Duke University Press, 2017.* ## Description Rethinks theories of mediation through the environmental and human toll of mining, manufacturing, using, and disposing of digital devices. Cubitt argues that digital media's communicative and epistemic power comes at the cost of an immense ecological footprint, and proposes an eco-political media aesthetics in which people use media to shift their relationship to the environment and reclaim public goods and spaces.
